Headliner Band Announced – Five For Fighting

Musical sensation Five for Fighting is set to headline the post race concert at Rock ‘n’ Roll Chicago. After crossing the finish line grab family and friends to celebrate together and have a rockin’ good time.

John Ondrasik, aka Five for Fighting, first appeared in the national spotlight eight years ago with the release of his Grammy- nominated song “Superman.” The celebrated, Southern California-born singer/songwriter now has a fifth album under the Five for Fighting banner, Slice. The album takes stories of friends, family and even American servicemen, and sets them to music shot through with the spirit of the great songs of Ondrasik’s youth. The release of Slice was led with the hit single “Chances,” a sweeping, grand pop song with a simple message: “Until you crash what have you done/Is there a better bet than love.” The groups new single, “Slice” is climbing the charts.

Along with Ondrasik’s musical success, the singer’s ongoing support of servicemen and women, and his dedication to his own wife and children, even led to him receiving a special fatherhood award from the National Fatherhood Initiative’s 2009 Military Fatherhood Award Ceremony.

Ondrasik’s songs “Superman,” “100 Years,” “World,” and “Freedom Never Cries” continue to endure in America’s songbook proving Ondrasik’s ability to stand the musical test of time.
